SHARK

Terms of Use

Last updated 14 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Sugam Bhargav (“we”, “us”), the developer of Shark. By downloading or using Shark you agree to them, and to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, which also applies. Where the two differ, these terms apply to the extent the law allows. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. Who can use Shark

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area and the UK), and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

2. Health and safety — please read

Shark gives general fitness and nutrition information. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.

3. Your account and your data

You can use Shark without an account. If you sign in with Apple, you’re responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. Everything you log is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Shark for you — to back it up, restore it and provide the app’s features — as described in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data in the app at any time.

4. Shark Plus subscriptions

5. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Shark: no attempting to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the app or its servers, no using it to harm others, and no using it in breach of any law. We may suspend access that puts the service or other people at risk.

6. The app itself

Shark, its design, code, programmes and content belong to us and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. Food data from Open Food Facts is available under the Open Database License; USDA FoodData Central data is in the public domain.

We work hard to keep Shark running and your data safe, but the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, add or remove features, and we can’t promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any injury, illness or loss arising from training or diet decisions you make using the app. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Shark Plus in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.

8. Ending things

You can stop using Shark and delete your account at any time. We may end these terms or your access if you break them, with notice where reasonable. Sections 2, 6 and 7 continue to apply after that.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Shark after that means you accept the updated terms.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, except where the law of the country you live in gives you protections that can’t be overridden.
